I used to believe that my empowerment came from my divorce but it actually came before that, it came from prioritizing my mental health after experiencing postpartum anxiety attacks. I’m sharing because I want moms who are experiencing this to know they aren’t alone, that they can get through it, and that it’s okay to ask for help.
In this episode, I share the first anxiety attack I experienced at a grocery store with my newborn son, how mental health wasn’t asked about by my family doctor, and the steps I took to ensure postpartum with my second son looked and felt much different. I also share the common signs of anxiety and depression and urge you to connect with a friend, family member, or professional in your area if you are experiencing anything similar.
